Error message - The connection to the server failed (iPhone)

The iPhone could show the following error message after installation of a SSL certificate, when syncing with the Exchange server:

Cannot Get Mail, connection to server failed.

This traces down to the wrong settings on the folder "exchange-oma". The Require SSL has to be set on off.
